When I arrived home last night after shopping for a few items to help me with my oven problem there was no smell of burned plastic or burned anything.
I bought a new aluminium floor plan, a "carpet" knife and a steel brush all at the dollar store. I checked out the cost of the "Lock n' Lock" plastics at Zeller's and none were on sale. They are still cheaper than Tupperware though. I found someone selling Tupperware through usedottawa.com but they had a scheduled pick-up lst night for their lot so I probably missed THAT opportunity. Bummer too, it was a crazy excellent deal. I also bought a new box of baking soda because while I have at least two at home already, neither are the "in case of fire only" box which, as per Kat's suggestion, I will keep right by the stove.
The bad news is I didn't clean the oven. I'm kind of scared to tackle it. I will have to clean it tonight because honestly, I use my oven pretty regularly. I don't think I mind the cleaning part so much. I think I mostly dread finding out I can't remove the plastic from the oven element and I'll need to replace it. Ugh.
