So I got up more or less on time this morning to go to work, despite the fact that we stayed up late last night and watched Dead Alive (good movie). I drove a little slowly to work because my foot still hurts (but I'm not whining, dammit). I parked the car, killed the engine, glanced down, and saw Katte's keys in the cup holder...
Well, fsck.
It's 18 miles from home to work, about 20 to 25 minutes assuming the traffic's good. Going from work to home, though, is toward Salt Lake, and in the morning it ain't 20 minutes. I really had no choice but to go back home, drop off the keys, and go back to work. Between (among?) the rain, traffic, and construction, I got to work about an hour and a half late. Fortunately I have very flexible hours, so I'm not in any kind of trouble, but I wanted to start out the week right by getting to work early every day.
The really annoying part is that I can't get mad at anyone but myself. I saw Katte drop her keys there last night, and I went back out to the car last night to get movies and I should have seen them then. I should have seen them this morning when I got in the car, or at any point on my trip to work. I guess I could blame the weather. This is the first cold day of the year (snow on the mountain tops and everything).
I just wish I had been more awake.
