tomorrow we leave. three weeks in mexico, only able to talk to each other because everyone else will speak a different language. and never being by myself because i am an american woman. it will be amazing and suffocating and i am going to eat so much rice and beans. i want to buy art. and something silver, too. or maybe not buy anything.

I've been watching this crackling fire dvd all evening and drinking wine. i discovered that if i just sit down and read for a while the book will get finished.

in the past week i've booked the flight to mexico. 24 days. i have also just booked the first 10 of those in a hostel in the zocalo. and what, you ask, are we to do for the other 2 weeks? that's a good question. any suggestions?
