Yes I skipped 3x04. Still haven't seen it. The prospect of lots of Laurel and virtually no Felicity was about as appealing as a smack in the face with an Ebola hankie.
But this, this was much more like the Arrow I used to love. Drama and pathos, but also light and funny. Very little dark and depressing.
AND OMG OLIVER IS SO CUTE AND IN LOVE.
Mama Smoak needs to return. The posters on p.tv are hoping for a meeting between her and Captain Lance, which would be seriously amusing especially if they hit it off.
The episode though belongs to Emily Bett Rickards, who was absolutely fucking brilliant. She's never less than very good, but she really shone tonight despite some of the dialog being less than stellar and the plot having no surprises whatsoever. She also made an amazing goth.
I won't talk about the technobabble because it was all rubbish and I had to tune it out.
Although I really do not ship Ray and Felicity, I would love some screwball zany comedy with Brandon Routh and Emily Bett Rickards. Or just any show with Emily Bett Rickards. I'm sure the studio execs are thanking their lucky stars that they stumbled on her.
Laurel was fucking terrible in almost every respect but she was supposed to be so there's that. I don't know if I'm supposed to pity her or something but it's not working - she still needs to be gone and is a total waste of screen space. Still, she can have a "Who's more wooden" competition with the guy who plays Ted Grant.
Still need to catch up with The Flash.
