Shoe soles

Jun 03, 2007 10:30

I bought two pairs of shoes on sale: clogs and heeled flip flops. I thought I got a terrific buy (75% off!) but there is only one problem. They both have hard, plastic soles and I've discovered that they are **extremely** slippery - at least indoors. It's too late to return them.

So my question is about salvaging my purchase. Does anyone know of a thrifty product that I can use on the soles to make them less slip prone? I've googled the matter but I'm getting the feeling that I'll either have to go to a shoe repair store to have vulcanized rubber applied (and that's never cheap) or just not wear the shoes. For some reason I thought it would be easy to find a tube of something or other by Dr. Scholl that I would squirt on the soles and that would fix the problem - silly me.

Anyone have any tips?

P.S. In future I think I'll stick to rubber soles that give a little.
