Hi! I've lurked here for months and months but never posted.
I've had really strange bumps under my tongue for a few days, and after self-caring for them for a few days, I finally decided to suck it up and go to my university health center (which is free for students, thankfully, as I don't have medical at all). The doctor, to make a long story short, claims that they are not sexually related and not cold sores BUT she's going to treat them that way, anyway. So she prescribes to me 2gm of Valtrex. To make a long story short, my local pharmacy doesn't have the generic version (maybe it isn't available in America? maybe they just suck? I don't know) and I really can't afford $60 for a one-day dose.
Do any of you have any ideas as to what I can do to treat these damn things cheaply and without these darn pills? Is there a medical community I'd be better asking (I'll delete this entry here if it doesn't belong!)? I know for a fact it isn't herpes or cold sores, as I've been tested and have sores in my mouth on and off.. I really didn't need her to tell me that. So are there any at-home things I can do?
