This isn't the best advice, but just telling the right people your story and asking for help goes a long way. I have Medicaid, but I needed a deeper cleaning that it wouldn't cover. I was going to just suck it up and pay for it. But I was talking to the dentist, who was surprisingly nice and took his time to talk to me, and he said he would speak to the hygienist to see if he could get me in right then and there, and work out something on the bill. I ended up not having to pay for it at all. They probably submitted it to Medicaid as a regular cleaning. I made sure to be incredibly thankful to them. I was quoted about $240 at another place. It just doesn't hurt to be human with people. I don't mean go in sobbing, but go in and say "I know you probably get this a lot, but I need some help. Can we please work out a payment schedule?" Something like that

I've got an electric toothbrush :) Also, I have spoken with the school already and, since their prices are so much lower, they always have a waitlist of people who want to be patients, so they don't do payment plans since they know they can always get someone else in there to pay right then...
i have medicade as well and my old dentist used to charge me for the things they would cover and just perform other procedures. God forbid anything happens to me though because my dental records wont be any help in identifying me!
Well, in the end it wasn't worth it. He dissappeared off the face of the earth and all the work he did for me was pretty much half assed. So now, things are falling apart, bonding is comming off and now i'm trying to deal with getting medicide back so i can get as much done before i turn 20.
