thanks, i went there and called them and they said that although i am in an income bracket that would make me elligable, because my current employer offers insurance i am obligated to accept theirs, regardless of weather or not i can afford it. and she said if i don't accept the insurance from my employer i will be fined for not having health insurance. this state is so f'ed up.

What??? They can't fine you for not being able to afford health insurance, can they??? That's fucked up if it's true. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Never mind. You're right. You get fined. WTF? And this is new law is supposed to BENEFIT the people in our state?

So, say someone loses their job. They have no money coming in, no health insurance, AND they have to pay a fine for not having health insurance? Yeah. Good idea.

if you have no job you can get it for free. i barely make $80 a week and i get it for free.
although the state is very messed up for what they are doing with the fines.
maybe you can talk to the insurance that you get through work to see if there is a cheaper plan. or a different job? it'd be rediculous to switch jobs over it but you gotta do what you gotta do.
