Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs §

Speaking of saving energy and money, I've been seeing compact fluorescent light bulbs on sale at Costco and other places here in Southern California.

Real life Costco example: I bought seven compact flurescent light bulbs in a blister pack for about 2 dollars total.
  • Three 900 lumen bulbs (replaces a 60-watt incandescent bulb, only 13 watts/hour, lasts 10,000 hours)
  • Three 1600 lumen bulbs (replaces 100-watt incandescent, 23 watts, same life)
  • One 750 lumen reflector-type bulb (65-watt equivalent, 15 watts, 8,000 hour life)

The cost is subsidized by our local electrical utility: Southern California Edison. If you're here, now's a good time to stock up. A compact flurescent light bulbs typically costs 2 to 5 dollars EACH.
