Obscurity? Can you help me?

Once upon a time I had to read a play in college. I liked it. It was a downer, but it was good stuff. I may or may not still have it somewhere, but I couldn't tell you. All my books have disappeared except for some really dumb ones.
At any rate, let me know if this rings a bell for you-
The play has, I dunno, 5 or 6 different acts. Every act (or setting or whatever) covers a generation. The setting of the play is on a mountain in Tennessee or Kentucky.
When the play begins we see a couple fella's staking their claim to their new land. I think something happens like they kill some Indians either with physical violence or pox'd blankets.
One of the later acts concerns a mining company buying up land around the original guy's descendants' land.
The next big is a couple generations later and the whole town works for the mine and an undercover labor organizer ends up being a guest at dinner at the family's house.
Another act talks about a cave-in at the big mine (which is now unionized.)
It seems like the last bit has the ghosts of the family leader's lamenting that the last of their land is about to be sold off (or something.)

Like I said, downer.. but I thought it was good stuff. I can't remember the name of it to save my friggin' life. I broke my Googling muscle and the hateful bitch isn't giving up anything I want. At one point there was a link to buy a mountain in Tennessee. I don't want that, I'd like to read that play again.
Why can I remember the name of a short play about a bunch of guys in a cabin in the woods having a dick measuring contest (Best 1/2-Foot Forward) but not the name of this play I'd like to reread and re-own?
Damn it.
