Tig has managed to 'lose' yet another collar. I'm glad they have that safety thing on them to rip them off if she gets caught somewhere, as this is the third one she's come home without in the space of about six months, and I suspect she'd have been an ex-Tig if she hadn't had them. Still, it makes life very confusing for me now she doesn't have the collar as I can't hear the familiar 'jingle jingle jingle' sound as she runs up stairs, or creeps up behind me. She just made me jump out of my skin by sneaking up on me and giving me a kiss (tr: headbutt).
I really don't like putting collars on cats, and looking at her now (sitting in the corner, yawning in a Bagpuss stylee) I have to say she looks so much nicer without one, and I'm convinced the constant jingling of the bell must drive her a bit crazy, it being right near her ears and all (this could explain her mentality). But the sole reason for making her wear a collar is that she is very obviously a huntin'shootin'fishin' kind of cat (where Pud never was) and if that 'jingle jingle jingle' sound saves just one birdy from her tiny jaws of doom, then I think it's worth it. It obviously doesn't work on mice, mind.
So, to buy another collar or not...that is the question.
