Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Believe me, no one could be more surprised than I am that I can actually SAY the word "perfect" in regard to anything related to me, personally, but it's true: our wedding went more smoothly and more perfectly than I could've ever hoped

Jason, this post made me smile so hard my face hurts a little :-). I'm so so sooo happy for you and James and your new phase in your lives together. Its a beautiful thing to promise your love for one person forever and ever. Very beautiful. I so badly wish I could've been there to see it all happen firsthand. You TOTALLY have to come for a visit... you DO! Depending on when you come, we could maybe pack a picnic and head up some cheap lawn seats at the Ravinia festival or we could just make a real down-home supper with a buncha garden-fresh produce (hopefully). I could even blawg about it! :-P

I'm coming because I'll be on my way to Michigan to visit Alissa Rowe and her husband. There are 4-5 people that I know from down this way who live up there now, and I've never been, so I thought I'd make a little side trip.

I guess, for us, the wedding served as a sort of "recharge" of the romance rather than creating a the more traditional newlywed vibe. Seeing as how we've been living together and knowing eachother for 5 years, now, the "new" in newlywed almost seems sarcastic. Although, having celebrated our love in such an official and public way, I can't deny that it has changed things somewhat... kinda hard to describe it, actually.

I hope that when the two of you decide to take the plunge that your experience is as great as ours.
