I just have to say, I finished my lunch today and marveled at the pleasure of it. I ate just under 600 calories of food and I felt GREAT. I could never have eaten as well or as much before when I was doing weight watchers. It's not that I couldn't have really, it's just that the way I was encourage to eat didn't fit well into this new eating model. I had beef stroganoff, half a cup of pasta, a cup of steamed veggies and a small piece of wheat bread to mop up the stroganoff. Oh man, it was SO GOOD. And, it only cost me $5.75 at the grad school of business cafeteria. Mmm. When I looked up the calories for the beef in my book I was AMAZED. I had figured, no way I could eat that, but I was so very wrong. It's so nice to be able to eat food. I think it's the reason skipping sugary yummies and alcohol feels worth it--cause the food is so tasty.
Last night I snuck a few sips of port and damn, that stuff is TASTY. Port is probably one of my favorite alcohols (other than maybe a Muscot--sp?), but a few sips metabolized real fast and made me a little tipsy and then a little sleepy, so I probably won't be sneaking any booze for a while.
