So You Think You Can Dance, Season 3 finale
I used to mock reality shows... until So You Think You Can Dance came along. I've watched every single episode this season; it's been a fun roller-coaster ride.
Tonight was the finale. I was so proud of Sara (one of my favorites, who was cut a few weeks ago -- but who was in THREE of the most-requested encore numbers of the night -- go Sara!).
And I almost called it correctly. I was right that Lacey would be fourth and Neil would be third, but I voted for Danny to win, with Sabra in second.
But you know what? I honestly don't mind that Sabra won. She danced with such heart, joy, and exuberance, which balanced her good-but-not-up-to-Danny's-standard technique. It'll be interesting to see where her career takes her. Ailey or Broadway? Time will tell.
And Danny? Interesting that he ended up in second, like his (adopted) brother Travis (season 2). The man is brilliantly talented, and has already served time as a principal dancer in the American Ballet Theater. Hopefully, now he will be able to attain soloist status.
