I haven't even begun to look at the
ds_seekritsanta results, but expect to see some recs for those stories soon. In the mean time, here are some recs from
sga_santa and
undermistletoe that I've read through, not including the frankly amazing submissions from
storydivagirl and myself. ;)
I haven't read all of the stories in any of these challenges, so more recs are likely to come in the next coming days/weeks, but these should tide you over for a while.
sga_santa Aloha--McKay/Ronon--This is the story written for me! It's about Rodney having to say good bye to Ronon, presumably forever, during The Return I.
Teyla placed a comforting hand on his elbow. "Yes. Ronon and I will look after each other." She reached up and pulled his head to hers until they were forehead to forehead once more. "And I expect you and the Colonel to do the same."
Mind's Eye--McKay/Sheppard--McKay gets the hand-to-forehead brainsuck treatment from the Asurans and it leaves him with amnesia.
But then: "Hey, Rodney," the man in front of him said quietly, and he blinked at this unexpected gift, the knowledge of his name.
The Company Holiday Party--McKay/Sheppard--I enjoyed reading about all of the chaos that comes with trying to put on the best non-denominational holiday party an international space expedition could have.
Rodney leaned back and crossed his arms over his chest. “I’m telling you, the minute you announce this all productive work in this city will come to a halt. Let them go to the SGC party.”
Elemental Contradictions--McKay/Sheppard--This is a great character piece for Sheppard, and I like the glimpses of his past presented here.
P9X-438 smelled exactly like John's grandma's house. It was warm and damp and had the same dark, exotic scent as those African Violets. It surprised John so much that he stopped in his tracks, breathing in the air, remembering the house that had been the most like home during his childhood.
undermistletoe Stargate Atlantis- 4 Recs
The Theory of Acquired Characters by toomuchplor--McKay/Sheppard--Never Been Kissed AU which has Rodney going undercover as an undergrad to recruit John.
“Guess I’ll see you at two o’clock,” Rodney says, feeling inexplicably dumbstruck. He’s not used to making small talk, especially not with vintage tee-wearing, smirking, spiky-haired zoologists. “You know. In class.”
A Wish For Wings by barely_bean--McKay/Sheppard--John is a liberated elf that hates Christmas, and Rodney learns his secret. Wow, that sounds way more weird than the story actually is.
He would probably still be there if it wasn't for the damn reindeer. A genetically superior breed, decades of work by their top scientists, and it was denied to him; people of his service weren't allowed to ride, hell, weren't even allowed to touch them. But one afternoon, trading shifts with one of the caretakers, and suddenly John had access. He doesn't remember slipping on its back, doesn't remember leaving the ground.
101 Ways to Get Lucky (In Love) by scribblinlenore--McKay/Sheppard--AU wherein John is a relationship guru and Rodney is a successful businessman in need of a wife.
"That's a no, right?" Sheppard was insufferably sure of himself. "Look, Rodney. Internet dating is just a tool. The point is: you need to meet women if you're ever going to marry one. It sounds like you spend all your time at the office. You'll need to shake things up a little if you're going to have someone in your life." John held up his hand before Rodney could protest. "I said a little. And don't tell me how busy you are. You're the one who wants a wife."
Campfire Law--McKay/Sheppard--Camp AU. Rodney and John work at a camp together. Rodney is a counselor and John is a lifeguard. There's adorable cameos by Zelenka, Carson and Ronon that aren't to be missed.
"He threw you into the lake?" Zelenka says, smothering a laugh behind his hand. "Good god, McKay, he may as well have pulled your pigtails."
Smallville- 3 Recs
The Rescue of Superman by mahaliem--Lex/Clark--Is it wrong that I found Lex jerking off the Fortress distrubingly hot?
Lex smiled. "Thank you." Lex glanced at the crystal rods. "Although I have always respected your knowledge, I had no idea you were quite so beautiful." Reaching a finger out, he ran it along the length of a rod. "Very beautiful. Parts of you are long and hard and so very cool to the touch."
Project Overlord by kantayra--Lex/Clark--Lex turns forty and goes through a midlife crisis, Luthor-style.
When Lex Luthor turned forty, never one to follow the crowd, he promptly seceded from the U.S., aimed a death ray squarely at Washington DC demanding that the U.S. acknowledge his newly sovereign territory as the Independent Kingdom of Lexonia, and kidnapped Lana Lang in order to make her his queen.
Dealing With the Unexpected by jenn--Clark/Lex--Clark is having Lex's baby, and it's Lex and Lois to the rescue. This Lois is sort of annoyingly perfect, but I can overlook that and enjoy the story for the Lex/Clark interaction and especially for the footrubs.
Clark can feel the second his stomach gives it up, and there's no way to stop the drop, hitting the carpet with both knees, and yes, okay, vomiting is totally worth it when he can make Lex look like *that*.
