Well, this really shouldn't have surprised me.
The kids have been sick the last couple of weeks, and are tired of being cooped up. Not able to play outside very much (it's too cold for as sick as they are) or go out almost at all (I don't want to expose other people to what appears to be RSV) means I've gotten really creative with play areas. So, we've spent some time in mommy and daddy's room lately, as an extra treat.
On one of the many bookshelves is a golden apple.
Jilly fixated on the apple and wanted it. So, I got it for her, and she was joyous.
She ran around holding the apple aloft and repeating how it was her apple.
Philip took it from her and ran off, also repeating "apple!" (though his version of "apple" sounds more like "pple"). What followed was chaos. I retrieved the apple and put it back on Olympus on the shelf, where it can't cause any more discord. For now.
Once again, I say: Eris got a bad rap, man.
