Cumulonimbus, from the Latin cumulus ("heap") and nimbus ("rainstorm", "storm cloud"), is a dense towering vertical cloud associated with thunderstorms and atmospheric instability, forming from water vapor carried by powerful upward air currents. These clouds are capable of producing lightning and other dangerous severe weather, such as gusts, hail, and occasional tornadoes. Cumulonimbus progress from overdeveloped cumulus congestus clouds and may further develop as part of a supercell.
Never thought the geog theory I learnt in JC would become this real. God bless the 162 souls on board, and comfort their loved ones in their time of loss. It's hard to imagine the kind of pain they are going through right now. At the turn of the year, I am reminded once again how our lives belong to Him and are His to take when He so desires. It could have been anyone on that plane. Or MH370 or MH17 for that matter.
While it has not been spectacular, 2014 has been quite an eventful one and I am very thankful for God's many provisions and keeping hand. I completed the full marathon on 7 Dec, the 4 of us have been having more family time, cy and I have spent five years together and we made our hdb purchase, I became a senior at work and started playing frisbee with an awesome bunch of people... and more and more. Oh yes and not forgetting the lessons I learnt (and am still learning) when I lost my phone in bkk haha.
This year's eve was spent attending amkmc's watchnight service and I found the reflections and renewal of commitment for the new year most meaningful. I pray that in the coming year God will continue to allow me to experience Him in ways I never have before and He will show me how to pray more, pray harder, and pray stronger.
’Tis mystery all! The Immortal dies!
Who can explore His strange design?
---
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
---
Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
---
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
---
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
In other new's, Hokkaido's up next in a couple of days - hoping for snow :)
