RL Update
Sorry I kind of disappeared... again. lol but I've been busy being kick ass!
This week the boss lady is off in Vegas for the yearly GM conference, which means I'm in charge. They've got contests running in our districts this week, and so far, we're in the running for 3 out of 5 of them. Whoo hoo!!! We have two sort of acting District Managers this week and I get kudos nearly every day in the morning update emails.
That being said and done, I can't wait for the boss lady to return. I hate being fully in charge and can't wait to go back to being second in command. Of course, once she's back, i get to start the 'wonderful' task of replacing nearly all of my staff since most of them graduate in a month and are moving on. I'm serious on these numbers. We have 24 people on staff - four of which are managers - and I'm going to have to hire around 10. I might be able to get away with 8 since two of the employees are just leaving for the summer and plan to return in the fall. But i also know we will be losing a manager sometime between mid-summer and late summer once she finishes her capstone project. Yay. Thankfully, we've got an in store candidate who we are working on getting up to par now. :)
Miss Thing is doing well. Being her willfull, bossy little self. Her current favorite thing is to climb onto the back of the couch and dangle herself over the edge while yelling "Help you! Help you!". *shakes head* Daredevil. Also, she has decided I have to sing her to sleep, even if I go in during the night. It's fine for bedtime, but I have a hard time remember words during the night and she doesn't accept humming. See, bossy. I swear she's grown five inches since Christmas.
Her new love is Mickey Mouse. It was a mad rush to buy some dvds to satisfy her and to keep us from getting burned out on a single video. She knows how to work the dvd player and frequently changes the discs on her own. Where did this grown up child come from?
Little worried about my blueberry bushes. I've got blooms on one of them already. The weather here during this time of the year is erratic and this strange bout of warm weather we've had for the last two weeks seems to have brought an early spring. This time last year, we had snow. *sigh* I just hope nothing kills them cause I love my fresh blueberries.
On the writing front, I'm ready to write like I feel the stories pushing at the back of my head but can't seem to focus. I know I owe Wishlist stories from two years ago, but I don't think they're gonna happen. Sorry to those I owe fics to.
What I'd like to do is a little comment fic post next week sometime. Just write a few sentences or so for prompts just to get the juices flowing and try to unlock the muse. Will probably try and do that on Tuesday night so keep your eyes open. :)
