I just have to say that Cormac McCarthy has totally made my list of favourite authors. His novel The Road is also the first post-apocalypic themed work that I have read since The Stand which I feel does the scope of that theme justice, even though it isn't particularly long. I started reading it at 3AM and had it finished just before sunrise.
