So I have decided to become a doula. A doula is a labor assistant, an emotional support to a woman during childbirth. I went to an informational meeting today about the training program with my friend who is taking a mid-wifery class. At first I was like: this is the stupidest most useless thing for a feminist to do, this is not where change needs to happen. Oh how wrong I was. So now I am going to sign up for the training and the best part is Smith is probably going to pay for it. It costs $350, but Smith reimburses students for "learning outside of the classroom."
On another note, this summer there was a really awesome song in a commercial before a movie I think Dani, Marissa, Cat and I went to see and I turned to Cat and said that song is awesome I want it and I found that song so I am very happy.
Also, I am very, very, very excited about this weekend.
And, I drink coffee like it is the elixir of life (but we know what the real elixir of life is) and I feel kinda like I am living in filth when I'm not and I wish it was easier to go home.
