laughs, leaves and a simpler time

i looked out my window today, and a quarter of the leaves on the tree outside were suddenly bright red. it is beautiful, all the leaves changing, but it also feels sort of like the trees are sick. it doesn't seem natural that their leaves should violently change colors and then fall off but they do for one reason or another. this place is so strange to me.

Also, I recently rediscovered a little film Catherine Cole and Elizabeth Perry made together one happy weekday evening in 2004 I think. It involves puzzle sex, the drunken Irish, and lots of love. Even now it makes me laugh out loud just as much as it ever did and I've watched it at least 5 times since I found it last night. Those were simpler times.
