Good day, faithful readers! Sorry about the slow update this morning. I attended the ol' work holiday party last night and indulged in a little bit of the Christmas Spirits afterward. As a result, my head's got some aches in it. But that won't stop the Countdown from rollin' on, no sir! Let's see what we've got in store for December 14th...how about cheese?
Like the smoked salmon, cheese logs seem to be one of those seasonal items that grocery stores are obligated to put out around mid-November. I guess the idea is to serve it up at your holiday get-togethers, perhaps on some crackers or melba toast or what-have-you. I'm not having a get-together, so I'm just gonna have to eat cheese and crackers for breakfast. I picked out a Kaukauna-brand spreadable cheese log. Those are almonds on top, if you were curious. It looked a little more appetizing in the package than it does sitting out on a paper plate. And the 'spreadable' claim was a bit of a stretch...as you can see from the shoddy application job on my delicious Town House Crackers, this cheese didn't wanna spread. No worries! The spreadability (is that a word?) of the cheese shouldn't have anything to do with its taste. Let's see what happens.
Well...it tastes like you'd imagine processed cheese would. It's almost like solid cheese-wiz...with almonds...on a cracker. It's not exactly good, but it's not terrible. It's definitely the sort of thing you'd eat at a party, and probably becomes about a hundred times better after you've been drinking. I'm gonna give this stuff a thumbs-up, but take my advice and don't eat it by yourself. Which reminds me...there's half a cheese log sitting alone in my fridge. Who's gonna come help me finish the rest of this? Come on people, free cheese! Ahhh rats off to ya!
Today's commercial is a great one! It's got everything that makes Christmas commercials great - a big party, happy people, mistletoe and STEVIE WONDER! Roll it!

Poor little Johnny can't get a kiss! So what better way to attract the ladies than to walk around the house clutching the mistletoe over your head? Obviously, this doesn't seem to be working out for him, either. Girls laugh at him...girls tease him....ah nuts, forget the whole kissing business and go have a Coke, right? But what's this?! Mystery girl is also thirsty. And little Johnny must have taken the last Coke! Well, the last Coke is just as good as mistletoe, right? Mystery Girl wastes no time and gives Johnny a smooch, which stuns him so greatly that she's able to walk right off with his Coke. That thieving magpie! I guess everybody's happy in the end, though, and how about that Stevie Wonder song?! It's awesome! Happy Friday everybody. Go out and do something fun this weekend!
