Hi all! Back with another episode |3 Unfortunately, July will probably be my last spurt haha. Towards the end of August, I'll be starting school again and will be pretty busy from then on so I won't be able to do too much translations. For now I'll still be working on them as much as i can. I don't know exactly how busy I'll get since it's gonna be a new school and new major...o.o but I'll try to do some translating on a regular basis to keep my Japanese in practice as well. If anyone wants to try translating, let me know which episode so i can take them off my list xD if you want me to proofread your translations [if you trust me to it lol] I'll be glad to do it. Proofreading is after all way faster than starting from scratch |3
Enjoy this bit for now~
Alice Nine Channel May 26th 2014 Part I/III
00:00 - 21:00
T: Hmm. We are starting~! hi everyone, it's been a while. We just returned, having completed part of our tour, and unbelievably we have to do this show already. Please let us rest.
T: Anyway, it's been a while. This is Alice nine's guitarist Tora. This month, we have the Alice Nine channel as usual! How is everyone? That's right, our backdrop is different from the usual. Oh i see the comments.
T: Oh you forgot we went on tour, well it's this kind of show. Oh fine, everyone's doing well. Some of you have come for our lives I see! That's right it's not the jungle (background). Yeah…
T: The studio wasn't available? This is the press conference room isn't it? We are doing this from the press conference room. It is so spacious that you can hear my voice echoooooing~ Yeah. [skipped some filler lines]
T: So they wrote here: May is finally coming to an end. A while ago, they did a special edition on the 'Evening Road Show' on TV Tokyo about Steven Seagal. Who cares about that.
T: Plus it was during our tour. Forget Seagal, we can't even watch TV Tokyo. Please think through this. However, even though we couldn't watch TV Tokyo, the Evening Road show, we did watch Seagal lol. We watched 'Flight of Fury' [though the Japanese title's literal translation was something like 'the silent stealth'.] It was on pretty much every channel at night. It's really interesting
T: Quick question, does anyone knows Steven Seagal? I wonder how many people know him. Generation wise, you can say we are from the 'Seagal generation'. We are definitely the 'Seagal generation'. Oh people do know.
T: By the way, Steven Seagal loves Japan. He even married a Japanese and was living in Osaka or somewhere. [his first wife]. Well I really liked Seagal. Seagal loved Japan so much he appeared in a movie speaking Japanese. I was a little doubtful then…he was speaking in broken Japanese with a Kansai [/Osaka] accent.
T: I hope everyone will check him out. Any title that has the word 'silent' [chinmoku no] in it is probably a Seagal movie. He's usually in that movie with the word. [only the japanese titles have a lot of that word lol i don't know why]
T: So check him out, search that 'chinmoku' word. By the way, the original titles are completely different from the Japanese title. They don't contain the 'chinmoku no' phrase. That's right. They have a more normal original title. I don't know what's up with the Japanese distribution firms, maybe they don't really understand [the english title?] so just went along with 'chinmoku'.
T: So anyway, this month's members here. Go ahead~!
Sa: Hey, during the tour, I had my first aromatic massage, it felt so good that I was silenced [chinmoku]. Hi, I'm the silent Saga-ru [wordplay on Seagal]
T: The silent Saga-ru lol
Sa: Yes, the silent Saga-ru. I'm Saga-ru
N: Sup! I'm the silent Nao-ru!
T: Right now I can only see Nao-san as some great Saiyan. Well Nao is wearing 'it' right now…
N: That's right. This T-shirt!
T: Please take a look at the back. *cough* I ended up choking myself…
T: Well it's a Tora-Tee! part of the tour goods. We have started selling them.
Sa: we did lol.
T: Our individual designs. The one Nao-san is wearing is the T-shirt I designed. For those who know will be familiar, this cost quite a lot of money [to make].
N: Yes
T: The shape…please take a look at the front too.
N: I'm the model now.
T: See, it even has that with the shirt. We spent a lot of money making this. Well the prices for the individual member T-shirts are fixed so we can only sell them at that price. So we made this with a 'red-marked' budget, while thinking we can probably sell quite a lot of this. [i can't remember the english word for this o.o]
T: However! It didn't sell at all…Yup, it didn't sell at all. Probably overdid myself.
Sa: We are going to sell them in China too.
T: That's right!
Sa: We put out an order list.
T: That's right, we handed out an order list, so that we know how much to bring over. By the way in Taiwan, the number of orders for this Tora-Tee…is zero….
Sa: Oh dear….what happened?
T: Maybe I don't have any fans from taiwan.
Sa: Or maybe they don't know about Dragonball?
T: Well they surely know Dragonball at the very least!
N: Wear the Tora-Tee… and fight me~ [not sure who he's imitating]
T: Yeah, i was thinking maybe it's okay not to go to Taiwan. Ah, no? I'm quite shocked. So there might be some Taiwanese watching this right now. So i'm counting on you. Surely not zero orders! I hope to at least sell one!!
Sa: Earlier on, based on the information from the manager, apparently my T-shirt received the most orders from China.
T: Exactly. Even though it's just a trash-Tee with your face on it! lol Pretty narcasstic.
Sa: Hey hey hey, that is an example of 'simple is best'. Now i'm even more eager to go to China.
T: Well yeah. Among the members I'm probably the most concerned about my T-shirt. While Saga was saying 'well if i just put my face there it'll probably sell'
N: It really did!
Sa: no no no.
T: His did end up getting the best sales…Honestly, everyone's competitive when it comes to just these T-shirts. We all seriously think about the designs. Shou-kun was also a little troubled over it.
Sa: Cos Shou-kun is the most fashionable one.
T: Right, he's the most fashionable one, and end up follow the pattern of being too fashionable and not selling well.
N: This is really detailed too!
T: yeah….though i really dislike Nao-san doing the publicizing for me lol
N: See it's 9 stars.
Sa: You're right, it's 9 stars!
N: And then it writes here, 'Toragonball'
T: Yeah, though if you show that too much on screen I might get sued soon. I really don't feel good about Nao doing the promotion for me…
N: Why not?! lol
T: Well this is what usually happens. When we all have our own T-shirt designs, it might be a little much me saying this, but usually my T-shirt is the best-selling one. And this again might be a little much to say, but Nao's T-shirt usually have the worst sales…If it's the usual pattern. So it's a little…sad when Nao starts promoting my T-shirt…
N: Well i want mine to sell too! So the Tora-tees need to sell as well~! [not too sure]
Sa: This is the case of the junior dominating the senior
T: Yes it is…Well it's not as if we get anything even the shirts sell well, we simply only think about the designs, but somehow I still feel frustrated.
Sa: Well... I would like to see life size image of Tora in Dragonball [not too sure]
T: I see.
Sa: Well, like Toriyama Akira-san style? [creator of DB]
T: Toriyama-style? So what should I do, first dye myself blond?
Sa: But in Dragonball, i think you're more like Piccolo
T: Lol me?!
Sa: Yeah. Especially your face.
T: Shall i go as Piccolo?
Sa: You are like a Piccolo kind of style.
N: So make a Piccolo-T shirt?
T: Make a Piccolo-T? That will just be repeating the mistake.
Sa: Make one with a 'Ma' word here. [this '魔']
N: LOL 'Ma!'
T: Though i'm hoping you guys can make T-shirts with other references as well. I hope you guys can experience this sad feeling
N: Well i think this is really well-made
T: Yeah, i was very detailed on the designs
N: It cost so much. [skipped one line]
T: It was pretty much sold at the cost price. So even if they all sell, there's probably no profits. There are no gains to be made here, but it still feels pretty vexing…At least in Taiwan, I'm counting on everyone. What are we talking about?
T: Anyway, we are doing this show with these members. With the release of our new album, we embarked on a national tour. And the 'Japan version' tour has now finally come to an end. Before long, the Asia tour will start right away this coming Friday.
T: First of all, how has the Japan tour been?
Sa: It's been a while since we last toured that much. Physically it has been pretty tough…
N: Yeah, we slept so much. We slept for pretty long hours each day, we were that tired.
Sa: We were…
T: This time, we traveled around in a bus. After the live, we went off right away on the bus, reach the next destination around night and proceed to the next live area. It was a tough tour. At first we were worried about the condition of the vocalist. but things went well right till the end.
N: Yeah, Shou was working hard.
T: But for us instrumentalists, we still have some energy left.
Sa: No no no.
T: You do have some energy left
Sa: No…You have?
N: Me? You're trying to lure me into some trap again?
Sa: But I can hear it at night.
T: What?
Sa: I can hear the sound of someone reloading his Pay-channel card. [i believe those are for watching porn]
T: The sound of the card reloaded.
Sa: That sound that comes up when you put in 1000yen into it. I heard it from around Nao-san's area…
T: Actually i think Saga-san don't know about this. Our bus driver, that 70 year old uncle. I saw him buying that pay channel card!!
Sa: For real??!!
T: So much vitality!
Sa: So that uncle bought it!
T: Exactly. he bought it, while saying 'Good work today~!" [Otsukare]
N: With a smile
T: Smiling yes. He bought the card with a smiley face.
Sa: I guess that's about right, i think i saw him buying some porno book somewhere else…
T: Amazing, that uncle is so full of vitality.
Sa: I guess we lost
T: Yeah, though we can feel secure being on his bus…since he's so full of vitality, the ride should be fine…so what's next…
T: That's right, we are going for our Asia tour very soon after!
Sa: It's really very soon after…
T: That's right. One of our valuable rest days have been taken up by this show. Well we certainly are looking forward to the tour…with some warm-up from the Japan tour, we probably can smoothly transition to the Asia tour [not too sure], live performance-wise i think we will be able to do pretty well.
T: Though all those places are where we had never been to before. And with my T-shirts not selling at all…there are worries.
N: It will sell. It will sell
T: But the problem is food…
Sa: Yeah…
T: We have about 20 days right? From the start off date, 20 days.
Sa: Exactly the food…! Especially for me…i can't really eat a number of things
T: Yeah varies from person to person.
Sa: Nao-san can eat them without much issues.
N: I ate a lot! Like nasi goreng
T: You were alright?
N: I was. it was delicious.
T: It was good? I don't have particular likes or dislikes either so…
Sa: Yeah you ate them
T: Yeah i was fine with them.
Sa: Me and Shou especially…we can't eat too much things
T: There's the star anise, a kind of spice.
N: Ahh that spice!
T: There were people who can't stand that. So if Saga can't take that taste, there's nothing much you can eat. [a very common spice in chinese cooking]
Sa: exactly…in Jakarta…well the country itself is fun, but the food… I just don't get why they have to add coconuts
T: You're no good with coconuts?
Sa: I don't understand why they add coconuts in every single thing they have…At night i was complaining about it when drinking at a club in Jakarta
T: Yeah, the last time we went there the hotel was pretty good. There was a bar at the top of the hotel. Though there was nobody there. We drank there.
Sa: We did.
T: Even with all those worries, we will put in our best effort. Will there be people coming to see us? from Japan and so on. Oh there are? as expected no one is raising their hands… Oh there's one. I'm thankful
Sa: 'I'm going'
T: Oh looks like a considerable number of people. Do come! If you watch us overseas we might give off a different kind of performance. Our feelings will also change.
Sa: yeah. On the day [food] provisions from Japan came….
N: You're gonna talk about that? lol
Sa: I was so happy I cried.
T: But yes, I'm really worried about the food!
Sa: In general you can't go wrong with McDonalds even overseas. No matter where we go, McDonalds will be tasty.
T: The options are to either get fat by eating McDonalds everyday or get skinny by not eating anything. So maybe on our next show, we might return as skins and bones. [skipped some lines]
T: [info on Asia tour]
Sa: [Asia tour info]
T: [anniversary live info]
N: [anniversary live info]
T: That was it for the announcements. It was asked in the comments. It's not true that you can't enter if you don't wear swimsuits. Just that if you come in swimsuits, the members' will be more excited.
Sa: Nah…might drop instead…
T: Your tension will drop instead?
N: Drop?
Sa: Well maybe?
T: Probably rise
Sa: If it's not tight enough…[not too sure] we are after all serious people.
T: But this 10th anniversary live is important to us so we hope to celebrate it with many people. I'm sure many of you have yet to come to our lives! Those who watch this show. I mean the numbers don't tally. there are quite a number of people watching this show but i certainly don't think everyone of them came to the lives! [average number of viewers per show is at least 10,000+++]
N: Exactly!
T: please come. I hope to celebrate our 10th anniversary with you all. After all, recently it has been circulated around that we are pretty cool on stage.
Sa: We are performing with that in mind.
T: right lol. [more event info]
Sa: [V-nation info]
T: Looking at the names on the list, we know most of them.
Sa: That's right.
T: Since this is an event, and it will be summer, with different bands in the same event, i think it will be pretty fun.
Sa: I'm looking forward to Tora x AnCafe.
T: Well yes. It's been quite a while isn't it? A collaboration with Antic Cafe.
Sa: Previously i heard you met them on the streets and got ignored.
N: What? lol
T: Apparently they were afraid of me.
N: They were afraid of you?
T: Apparently so.
Sa: I'm looking forward to it.
T: Today is a little weird, especially since we are doing this in a press conference room.
T: (read) What's up lately? Have you ever caught a bunch of pill bugs, put then in your pockets, forget about them and got into a huge panic after doing laundry?
Sa: Junior school?
T: Did this before?
Sa: I certainly did.
T: really?!
Sa: Pill bugs, yes.
T: I've never done this before. I couldn't touch bugs at all, even since young
N: There are still pill bugs around?
T: Of course! lol They are not extinct.
Sa: They all got exterminated within a few years? lol
T: They aren't.
N: Oh really. It's just that i haven't seen any around i guess
T: On second though, how were you able to stand touching bugs?
Sa: Eh? Well it's not like I don't feel up to it or anything. It's kind of a robot thing.
T: I guess your father can touch them?
Sa: Well the bugs will attach themselves to the dad's shoulders.
T: Pill bugs?
Sa: Pill bugs and various other bugs
T: Various bugs lol.
Sa: I'm used to that.
N: Maybe as a child you will think, rhino beetles and stag beetles are cool. So you'll end up liking them. And from there on, you start liking other kinds of bugs.
T: It might be unbelievable…I've never touched rhino beetles and stag beetles ever in my life.
Sa+N: EHHH?
Sa: In the first place why can't you touch them? Because of their shape?
T: I guess because both my parents can't touch them.
Sa: So it's a genetic issue?
T: Rather than genes, it's more because they won't take me to those places [where there are beetles]
N: Want to try touching?
T: What are you doing? lol. Right when a roach appeared, I'll call my manager. By the way, when a cricket enters my home, I'll also ring up my manager.
T: (read) In any case, let's talk about this month's activity. Until now, we have been initiating various activities that we know some members will dislike. However today, on the rare occasion, we are gonna be reckless and propose a seemingly interesting activity to test out.
N: Oh what is it?
T: That activity is: Trial activity! Alice Nine's caption writing Grand Prix! In short, P-1 Grand Prix!
N: Photo captions?
T: This is that…Ippon. [Ippon Grand prix]
Sa: Ippon. I watched that recently on TV. I did think about the possibility of that in our own show…but it's really challenging.
T: They are! Even for comedians…You have to be pretty amazing to be able to compete. There are times when even they couldn't do it. Will Alice nine be able to do it?
T: (read) This was a game that you members tried casually just for fun during the Super Alice Nine channel episode on 5th may when you were looking through tour pictures. With today's members as Saga and Nao, we thought we might as well try it out.
N: Sounds pretty hard though
T: (read) So let's quickly go through with a set change, let's hear the song intro from Nao.
N: Alright, please listen to this 'Seven'.
