This is something I've been thinking about lately, both as I watch more of the anime and since the English names of the three starters have been revealed. I'm realizing more and more that I'm not sure WHICH starter I want.

Hey guys! I just got my Black version, and am hell-bent on starting with a shiny Tsutarja. When you pick your starter, and that "large" image of your choice pops up, and asks "are you sure you want this?" will it be shiny too, or do I have to go into that first battle to know?

When I played Pokemon Red, I always wanted to obtain the pokemon on the front of the cartridge, so I obviously favored picking charmander. I still liked them all, though, so I trained a team of all three starters and a pikachu when I got Pokemon Yellow. Then, when Gold rolled around, I chose totodile. He's so dang adorable!
