Pokemon.com has OFFICIALLY announced Gamestop Celebi !!!  :)

While everyone here knew about the upcoming Celebi event, there were still doubters.  I read numerous people posting to GameFAQ that Gamestop Celebi was not confirmed ... well NOW it is confirmed.

Pokemon Black and White haven't been released yet but they're A++++ in my eyes. I can't believe how quick these events are coming out and the promotions for them too! I don't believe I've even seen any generation heavily promoted this this gen. :D

The rarest of all pokemon, the elusive Celebi will arrive at Gamestop from February 27, - March 11, 2011.

AFAIK, there was no legitimate way to obtain Celebi outside of Japan (i.e. you need the Japanese version of the game or you need to trade over regular wireless or regular Wi-fi [NOT GTS] with someone who has the Japanese version of the game ( Read more... )

Was there supposed to be a special event Celebi to unlock the forest/time travel event in HG/SS? I've been trying to find out if a special Celebi is needed but none of the things I've looked at seem to specify, and there so far doesn't seem to be a Celebi giveaway for GenVI.
