I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I'm curious to see what other people think of these ideas.
What if there was a more realistic Pokémon game in the future? For now, let's assume that it is an application usable by most modern cell phones. Let's say the game works along side a GPS system inside the phone, and you could "catch" Pokémon based on your geographic location in the real world. (For example, Gen V would be found in the North Eastern United States)
This way just having pokémon from other regions would be kind of a big deal, especially rare pokémon, which would actually be very rare. Like knowing a person who travels a lot would be a huge asset.
Now let's say the battle and leveling system was a bit more realistic. A person using this shouldn't be able to max out their pokémon's level in only a few weeks. It is debatable whether or not the user should be able to "see" the level and stats of their pokémon, like in the anime, or like it would be if they were real. It would also be debatable whether or not they could learn more than four moves, as the battle system would not be the same as it were in the Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal/Ruby/Sapphire/etc. game series.
I am not a developer of cellphone applications, nor do I have any license rights to pokémon. I'm just thinking "what if." Feel free to expand on this idea. It seems to have a lot of holes.
