[Stopping his work on the crossword puzzle to watch Silver. He's trying to see how the child is "reading." The childish "book is upside-down" way? Honestly trying? Or "holy shit look at the reading comprehension on that kid"?]

[After a while he'll get stuck on some obscenely big word, stop, look back up at the table, grab a dictionary, flip through for the word he needs, read it over a few times, throw it into context, and set the dictionary down next to him before continuing.]

[At some point he'll get to a part on the Horsea line and shuffle through his pockets, pulling out a Dragon Scale, and examine it, comparing it to some things written in the book. He's all but forgotten that you exist there, Archer.]

Some indeterminate amount of time later, when he's about three quarters of the way through, Sneasel will start tugging at him. Silver you need to eat something and it's getting late and- are you paying attention]
