[Not too far from there, a certain blond Champion is taking a stroll by the shore with her own giant sea serpent, ice cream in hands and eyes set on her friend as Milotic dances about in the water, humming a soothing little tune.

And while the commotion does startle both Pokemon and trainer at first, seeing Lance by the beach is as much of an explanation as they need.]

Gyarados seems to be enjoying himself!

I thought he deserved a chance to have fun.

As long as it's harmless fun, I don't see why not.

[Milotic approaches the other Pokemon, humming another melodious tune in greeting. Please don't get too destructive there, buddy.]

That's why I decided to take him to a private section of the beach, so it can continue to be harmless.

[Gyarados growled in greeting, not overly aggressive.]

That's a good idea. But even around these parts, there is the occasional passerby, so you should keep an eye out on those.

[And also on a certain Milotic that is playfully Aqua Tail'ing the ocean's surface, splashing quite some water everywhere. ♥]

[And Gyarados sends one right back.]

[That prompts Milotic to dive out of sight, plotting a super fun comeback in the meantime. ♥]

[And Gyarados dives out of sight as well.]

[Oh, you shouldn't have done that, Lance. Because the minute Gyarados dives in, Milotic comes out with a somersault, deliberately splashing water on both Champions - but especially on her trainer.]

[A trainer who is currently giving a dejected look to-- yes, you guessed it-- her ice cream. Her ruined, ruined sugary dessert.]

I was eating that, Milotic.

[Milotic gives a sagely nod, followed by a gentle hum. "I'm only watching out for your good shape!"]

[Lance snorts softly to himself, shaking the water out of his cape.]

How rude.

Milotic is highly image-conscious. Apparently, sugary treats are not good for me.

[The Pokemon does float closer to Lance and offer him an apologetic nuzzle, though. The watery fun was only meant for Cynthia.]

My pokemon are not so stringent.

I take it you have never taken part at Contests, then? [Said with a good-humored chuckle as she tries to shake some of that water off.]

I've never had the talent for them, no.

That explains it, then. Contest Pokemon tend to be a little more careful about that, especially when they take part in the Beauty and Cute categories.

[With another soft hum, Milotic moves from Lance to Cynthia, wrapping her slender body around the Champion.] Besides, they're very much fun, as well!
