good and bad
so, i have not updated in a while....
well -- school is over!
so, after a semester i thought would never end, i am able to say a few words about my life.
i have been spending time with my family, and of course ben since we have a whole month together!
he is leaving for france at the end of january, so i want to spend as much time with him as possible.
christmas was fun and relaxing. i got really nice things, including some clothes, books, jewelery....
and an ipod nano! its so small and blue! i love it.
i found out my grades today, thanks to lindsie's overthrow to the CCSU system (heehee)
university singers = A
chorale = A
piano 2 = A
woodwind methods = A-
brass methods = B
voice lessons = B+
music theory 3 = B-
sight singing 3 = B+
music history 2 = B
psychology = B
so, i have nothing to complain about. i thought i was going to fail music theory and i thought i did better in psychology, but i guess it balances out.
however, not everything has been so happy....
three days ago, i was feeding my guinea pig and i saw that she was very sick (guinea pig sicknesses come on VERY suddenly). so i called my sister who works at manchester vet if she could bring her into work the next day. so on thursday, L.V. was checked out and she has an abscess in her throat. the only way she will live is if she gets surgury and survives it.
so i have three options:
-keep giving her antibiotics and see if the abscess shrinks
-antibiotics + draining the abscess (but there is a good chance of it coming back)
-antibiotics + surgury to remove abscess (but small animals often do not survive anesthesia and surgury is costly)
i would appreciate any ideas to help with this decision. this is not easy for me because her life is in my hands. she is near the end of the average lifespan (she is 6), but she has been healthy until now. i cant watch her suffer and she has already stopped eating. anorexia for even three days causes the liver to shut down. i need to make this decision quickly if i dont see her start to eat tomorrow.
i wish money was not an issue, but euthanasia costs 15$ and the surgury costs at least 150$.
