Good Morning Everyone :) Hope you're all enjoying Saturday :) I ran two miles, its raining, just imagine how wet I was :p a big thank you mlledefer - you're such a doll! I saw Iron Man last night and have to agree with mata090680's brief assessment - faboo!

Iron Man

If you're not familiar with the Marvel comic this movie is based on, Iron Man is a guy who, as the movie shows, builds weapons for the US government. On his way back from a demo, he gets attacked by a terrorist group and is almost killed. A local doctor puts a device in his body that stops the shrapnel from impacting his heart. He is a brilliant creator and makes a device that works better than the crude device that is initially put in. He does finally escape his captors and gets back to the states. Once back, he decides he's going to defend the people he's put in harm's way and creates a suit that he can use to fight off any attack, virtually.

I don't want to tell everything that happens, even though I did warn against spoilers, but I have to be honest. When I saw the first trailer, I thought this movie would be utterly idiotic. And this, my friends, is why I still go and go with an open mind. This movie was so much better than I thought it would be. Robert Downey Jr. was just superb. His comedic timing and knack for playing the playboy were spot on for Tony Stark. Gwyneth Paltrow was actually very, very good as Pepper Potts, Tony Stark's assistant. The comedic timing between the two characters was perfect. And the tension between them was also fantastic. If nothing else, the casting of this movie was just fantastic!

It's kinda funny, my friend and I split up to go to the theatre, we were coming straight from work and in two different cars. So, I'm standing in the queue for tickets and as I get to the window, they start making an announcement, this is probably funnier if you'd seen me, but anyway. They're all, 'the...wait, what showing is it?' And I can see the guy making the announcement and I'm like, 'No!' and then he's like, 'The 7.45 show of Iron Man is sold out.' And I'm like, 'NO!' And I'm doing this at the ticket window and the girl's laughing at me and she's like, the next show's at 8.30. It was a very amusing scene :p

okay - thanks again for the votes :) have a fun Saturday :)
