I know my reviews have been getting less and less detailed, but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I don't feeling mentally challenged by any of these things. It's like, I read those pop culture and philosophy books and I see a tepid movie and I just get bored. I mean, honestly, I was daydreaming during the movie...lol
The premise of the movie is pretty much LA Confidential and there is only a little more gritty. I thought the casting was spot on - Keanu was quite believable as the Russel Crowe-like character, the brute that doesn't think much. He does the dirty work for the his supervisor and in turn the supervisor keeps him out of trouble. In a classic twist of fate, it turns out that the people he trusted the most are responsible for some pretty atrocious things and he has to over-come it. It was well-written and well-directed, just a tad tepid and predictable once I realised it was basically LA Confidential.
I have to say this, it wasn't as stupid as I thought it would be and didn't have any gratuitous nudity, which I really hate. Anyway, hope you're all enjoying the day and thanks to those of you that voted :)
