"Good morning, Maki-chan." I place a kiss on her cold, smooth cheek. No response, as usual.
"It's time for breakfast. Come on. I made omelette." I put her in her chair. She sits, stiffly upright and perpetually silent. She does not eat.
A gust of wind from the open windows makes her fall from the chair. I leave her there.
The cardboard cutout is just a subsitute anyway. Soon, Maki will come to me. She will be mine. She will leave that monster. Soon.
8.06AM. I'm running late. I grab my bag and blow a kiss to her pictures on the wall.
"I'm coming to find you..." I whisper.
8.27AM. She leaves her house, right on time. She's wearing a white blouse I saw her buying the day before, and jeans. New shoes, too. What's the occasion, I wonder to myself. I get my answer soon. Yamashita Tomohisa. He pulls up in that flashy sports car. She gets in and i see her leaning over to kiss him.
She doesn't love me. But that doesn't matter. I have enough love for the both of us.

She takes a tiny step, then another. She is dressed in white from head to toe. She looks like an angle from heaven. Their eyes are locked on earch others' as she walks towards him. Everyone ceases to exist. It's both of them in their own world.
"Do you, Horikita Maki, take Yamashita Tomohisa as Your lawfully wedded husband and promise to love him in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer? "
No, Maki, it's not too late to say no. It's not too late to see that i love you.
"I do." Her face is radiant with happiness. She should be saying those words to me.
"Do you, Yamashita Tomohisa, take Horikita Maki as Your lawfully wedded wife and promise to love her in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer? "
"I do."
He kisses those perfect lips.
He loves her. She loves him.
But i'll still be waiting for you, Maki. I'll love you. In sickness and in health. For poorer or richer. Remember? I love you.
