Okay, that's it!

Any time the visual novel company KEY is referenced in any way, someone is required to answer that with "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY?". It's now a law, or something.

I mean, seriously. They made Kanon, which is famous for it's cute characters and depressing storyline. Followed by Air and Clannad. If you know anything about either of those, you'll know that they're sad. And now you're sad, because I made you remember them.
After that, they made Planetarian ~The Reverie of a Little Planet~, which is the game that caused a friend to exclaim "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY?" when I recommended it, since he had already played it.
Then came Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ which I don't know, but any title that has to specify that "it's a wonderful life" has to be sad. Also, it's a spinoff from Clannad, so yeah.

Then there's Little Busters, that I'm currently playing. It's a silly and whimsical story about a group of friends getting together to do something fun before their school days ends and they might all get split up and scattered once the graduate and move on.
It is randomly decided that they will play baseball, followed by crazy antics trying to get a team together in just a few days.

Sounds happy, right?
Well, that's the "common route". Sort of like a "chapter one" where your choices decide which route you'll get for "chapter 2".
So far I've seen two routes. They both made me want to cry.
In one of them, the girl in question snapped from a suppressed traumatic memory and started getting delusional, unable to tell reality from fantasy as her mind desperately avoided confronting the emotional pain of that event.
And the other girl's route, which I just finished... Well, it was pretty much just "No Happy Endings Allowed".

And that's why KEY is now "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY?".

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go take a shower. Any kind of water running down my face is from the shower, okay?
