(no subject)
... Man I realize I have been updating my LJ a lot, but this post does not actually have anything about politics. Instead, I wish to glee about the Soc essay that's due on the 20th. We've got four prompts to choose from, but my favorite is this one:
Pretend that you are Durkheim and either Marx or Weber. The two of you are brought together to debate your basic ideas about society. Write a dialogue between the two theorists, demonstrating strengths and weaknesses in each one.
To quote my professor: "You can let your creative writing spirit out." So basically. For my soc essay. I can write a fic of two sociological theorists talking about their ideas. My first thought: I WANT IT TO END IN A BAR FIGHT but no, no, that would probably not be good. But it is so tempting. Or else, instead of prose, I could try to do it in the style of a playwright... except, well, I don't actually know how to write plays.
But this sounds damn fun.
