It means that they are scared 20-somethings that never really had adult supervision living in a crapsack world where everything is out to get them so they don't know who to trust. I can't stress this enough. They will not always be this way. Eventually, they will learn to trust and like the citizens of Taxon-- maybe even stop setting things on fire!
However, it does mean that there's going to be negative CR. And you know what? We fully encourage it. Whether positive or negative, we want CR to build off of!
As the primary author of this primer, I will use an example: Party Poison, eventually, will not be a paranoid, vitrol-spitting co-dependent adolescent. He's quick to adapt, sure, but that doesn't mean he's used to people, let alone people that don't mean any harm to him. Eventually he's going to even start apologizing (!) to people he's been a complete butt to. It's a defense mechanism to protect himself, see?
I repeat: THE KILLJOYS WILL LEARN TO LOVE YOU. Just wait. We are not playing them as assholes because we are assholes irl. We're all actually quite a nice bunch! DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED OOC.
