This is weirdness, but here goes anyway:
Are their any gals out there on my flist who would like some shorts and/or pants? No, I'm not kiddin'. I have a bunch of shorts/pants that are too big for me, and, instead of giving them to my mom to just GIVE away, I'd like to make some moneys so I can buy some that do fit me. It's a bit frustrating having to wear belts all the time. They're mostly 10's (misses) or 11's (juniors) and they're all washed and in great shape, save for the cords, which have frayed legs, from being too long on me. But yeah, I'm very serious! Anyone who's lookin' for some cheap-cheap pants-type things, hit me up via e-mails and we can figger some prices.
Actually, I'm sort of begging, too. Guys, I'm really sick of these being my only choices of pants-wear; and I hate the idea of just giving them all away, especially considering that I need to buy a whole new crop of pants. I would like to get something for them to help my pants-buying venture. Well, pants and this adorable Kelly green Nine West coat I've stumbled upon. Um.
In other news: THE PHILLIES ARE SUCH BULLSHIT RIGHT NOW. I can't even talk about it. There are NO WORDS to describe their FAIL. SRSLY, CHASE. GET WITH THE PROGRAM HURR. I'm thinkin' the Vengabus needs to go in for it's annual tune-up. NO, OMG. I can't....flames...on the side of my face...breaths..heaving breaths...
I'm proud of (most of) the Fishes though. How 'bout that Uggla? Who, you ask? HIS NAME IS DAN! UGGLA! Although, I've mostly been looking forward to the Marlins games this past week because of ~*MARLINS AFTER DARK*~ with Rich&Tommy. Who are insane. Apparently Gonzo took a buncha Marlins peeps, from both the team and the TV crew, on a wine tour in Napa Valley. So now Tommy's lobbying to have this be an annual thing. Whilst Rich makes fun of his sweater-vest (from Macy's).
GUYS!
The contest ends next Saturday but today was my last day in Watches. It started out rough today and I was v. mad that my coworker sold THREE in a half-hour. I think what made me mad, really, was her telling me when she came in that "Oh, I won't make it blah blah" (since she'd been on vacation a week), an' I'm here thinkin', while she hovers at the Fossil case, if you feel that way, why not ring up a Fossil on my number so I can get that last one in? It's not like the commission is a BFD, oh omg a whole ~$1.50, give or take.
But anyway. THE GOOD PART. My last customer of the day. The wife of a co-worker from Majors, who, I've waited on here a few times, and she's really nice and fun. She liked the charm bracelet style watch, which, I personally find rather hideous but that is mostly because they are uber-girly and I like my watch to be a watch. But if bracelets are your thing, there ya go. She had a gift card + employee discount so she only really had to pay 25 dollars for a 75 dollar watch. Haha plus I was all "pwease buy a Fossil! ;_;". Lol, and here I'd like to think that I'm only a brat when it comes to
blinding_voip. :P
SO! Mah watch. As mentioned a couple entries ago,
this copper-colored steel-mesh band one is the watch I'm set on. I do prefer square/rectangle faces, because I think they lay better on my itty-bitty wrist than big honkin' round ones. Although, despite that notion,
this black/silver one is my second choice. I almost went with a neato silver one that has a red face, but, haha, I could only really wear it to Phillies games/with my Phillies stuff. And, as unfortunate as it is, I'm at work more than I am at Phillies games, and I want something I can wear a lot. The silver/red doesn't go with any of my work stuff (apparently almost everything that I own that is red, is a Phillies shirt). So after a lot of waffling, I ended up back where I started: the copper/steel-mesh one.
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs
1. "Read My Mind"-The Killers- Is it safe to say I'm obsessed with this song? 'Cuz I am. It's on the top of my S/G playlist. And once I kick back into drawing mode, I'm gonna draw scenes out to the lyrics in my little book of drawrings, although they're in the least chronological order ever. Very choppy. However, I debate with myself which song should be the top song, or
2."The Stranger"-Billy Joel-This just mostly goes with my fic, I think more than ~*All-encompassing*~. The song is about having another part of yourself that you're uncomfortable with and being reluctant about coming to terms with. PERHAPS A WEIRD CRUSH. ON YOUR BIFFLE? MAYBE? Teh heh heh. But no, the whole tone of the song seems to fit with my fic, which is from Smoltz's POV.
You say you wanna move on and
You say I'm fallin' behind
Can you read my mind?
I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light, I got a little fight
I'm gonna turn this thing around
Can you read my mind
The good old days, the honest man
The restless heart, the promised land
A subtle kiss that no one sees....
&&
You may never understand how the Stranger is inspired
But he isn't always evil, and he is not always wrong
Though you drown in good intentions
You will never quench the fire
You'll give in to your desire when the Stranger comes along
3. "Found Out About You"-Gin Blossoms- This song is about a guy finding out the girl he loves, who said she loved him, has moved on and didn't tell him, but he, as the song states, found out. I used to be all over "Hey Jealousy" when it came to the Gin Blossoms but this grew on me more and more Added bonus! It does fit nearly perfectly, although with a different connotation, with one of my other um, pairings, so that's why I'm so stuck on it. Plus it's hella catchy.
Rumors follow everywhere you go
Then you left and I was last to know
You're famous now and there's no doubt
In all the places you hang out
They know your name and they know what you're about
4.
"Shattered (Turn This Car Around)" I've only heard this song a few times, but I positively love it. It's sort of emo, but in a pretty way, so. That's good.
How many times can I break till I shatter?
Over the line can't define what I'm after
I always turn the car around
Give me a break let me make my own pattern
All that it takes is some time but I'm shattered
I always turn the car around
5."Do It Again"-Stroke 9-I can listen to this song over and over. Catchy + pervy = I loves it. I love Stroke 9 in general, and think they're underrated. If you like Better Than Ezra (*prods Sam*), you'd, in all likelihood, like them. Although, this isn't my favorite of theirs, just the one I seem to listen to the most, because it's, as I said, all dirty and such. Hahaha.
Instantly awaken my imagination, old-fashioned infatuation
I can be anything you want me to be
And you can have me in every position that you've dreamed
I know you've got a wild streak, you're a freak
You're alone in your bed with graphic images in your bed
Let me do what I want to do with you
Let me tie you down, pick you up, and, flip you all around
Let me tell you how sexy you are
As I'm goin' down on you in the car
If feelin' this good is a sin, let's do it all over again
6."All These Things That I've Done"-The Killers Back to pairing songs. Although, this doesn't necessarily fall under pairings so much as it fits my 91 fic in general, all the guys in it collectively, of their postseason emotions blah blah blah etc. I tend to picture it just for the trio, but I ended up fleshing the fic out too much, so as I said, it sort of envelops them all. But, I mean, this freakin' song is so epic in a way. I used to be all over it back at...the end of 05? I don't remember. And I recently got all back into it.
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more song?
These changes
Ain't changin' me
The gold-hearted boy I used to be
Yeah, you know you gotta help me out
Oh, don't you put me on the backburner
You know you gotta help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
7. "The Waiting"-Tom Petty This song will forever here on out, always always always make me think of the 2007 Phillies. Makes me spontaneously break into fits of happy crying. They played it last year after Cole's dominant start in the third-to-last game, when the Phillies finally caught up to first, and I started sobbing like the huge dork I am. lol I'm gonna cry now. >.>
Don't it feel like heaven right now?
Don't it feel like somethin' from a dream?
Yeah, I've never known nothin' quite like this
Don't it feel like it might not ever be again?
Yeah, we know better than to try and pretend
No one could've ever told me about this, yeah yeah.
The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part
OH YAY ALMOST TIME TO WATCH THE PHILLIES STAND THE FUCK AROUND AND DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR 3 HOURS! >:O >:O >:O
In other news, I don't know if I ever mentioned on LJ the vague idea I had for a David/Jose fic. Now, I'm not big on AUs, not at all, but this idea I find to be tremendously cute. Setting: Queens, NY, 1969. Jose's lived there his whole life, David's going to school somewhere in New York (haven't thought of this detail quite yet) the coming September, so he's moved up to New York. He meets Jose at a Mets game in June and they follow the Miracle Mets that summer into that September, October. And FALL IN WUV along the way. N'aww. lol I'm so lame.
