One of the things Saffron loved about where she lived was that despite how many huts seemed to be springing up all over the island, hers continued to remain in relative isolation despite its reasonable distance from the compound. There were no other huts in sight from where she was; the closest thing was the church and even that was hardly right on top of her. She had the convenience of the stream practically at her front door, and for the most part no one passed her way unless they were coming to see her or were lost. It meant she was still able to take advantage of the patches of sun that shone through the trees, larger here than at the edge of the jungle where the vegetation was denser, to sunbathe and maintain a tan free of tan lines.

Saffron sat on a large rock at the edge of the stream. She was clothed, sort of - her jean shorts were on over her bikini bottoms but her bikini top was untied, only staying on by virtue of the fact that she was hugging her knees. It was a nice day, and absently she wondered what Lex was up to. She'd been used to living alone for a while, but with Lex there she'd realized it was nice to have a roommate too, especially one she got along well with.
