It was Friday afternoon, which normally would have meant Saffron would be at the club, either catching up on the bookkeeping or practicing something for her routine. But the club was closed, had been closed for 24 hours now, and that meant Saffron had nothing to do.

That wasn't entirely true - there were several things she could have been doing. And she was sure she'd be checking on the place, making sure it stayed somewhat clean during its temporary closure. But right then, she didn't want to do anything. She'd walked by Warrick's hut earlier and had a sudden desire to put up some sort of 'KEEP OUT' sign on the door, so awful was the thought of just any old person taking the place over. She'd ended up at her hut, crying again, and once she snapped herself out of that foolishness she decided a day of relaxation was in order.

Saffron didn't feel like putting on her bikini, so she headed down to the beach in little shorts and a simple tank top. Once she got there she spread her towel on the sand and sat herself on it, slipping on her sunglasses. Warrick had gotten her the sunglasses. Saffron clenched a fist in the towel as she fought down the lump that was threatening to build again in her throat.
