Ok, I have been doing some reading online about Cape May. Since I know virtually nothing about this area, I wanted to be informed so I can make the most of my time there. As most of you know, I love food. Just because I used to be a Chef does not mean I only like "Haute Cuisine"...I just like food. If you want to do you own research,
Cape May Times is a good place to start. Most of the restaurants on the web site are higher ticket places, but let me share a couple of menu items that caught my attention:
“Hang Ten” Loaded Fries From Cabana's Beach Bar
A house special!! Beer battered fries tossed in bacon, scallions, and melted cheddar cheese with side ranch dressing and ketchup.
Sesame Crusted Rare Tuna From Martini Beach - Upstairs from Cabanas
Sliced thin with dressed soba noodles, soy sauce, wasabi
TJ's Omelet From McGlade's
Large shrimp, crab and cheese with a touch of garlic...
Chiles Rellenos Camarones From Gecko's
Roasted poblano chiles stuffed with grilled shrimp, jicama, pumpkin seeds and cheese, oven baked and served with a roasted tomato cascabel sauce.
RevStompy mentioned something about an awesome "Cheeezy Steak" sandwich somewhere....have to find that too.
Now that I have made you all hungry, I will go get my own lunch.
Mission Accomplished.
