I never realized how much I miss male bonding in my social life, but I felt it when my Brother-in-law left for home yesterday. Yes, I know I get my night out with the boys on Dart Night, and I really need that time, but it was nice just having a male to hang out with. Sheesh! I need to make some friends. It was wonderful to have the swamp-folk come to visit...I am glad we get to see them again in a couple of weeks! I think the biggest thing that struck me about this visit is the change in relationship between my daughter and her cousin. In the past, they have been inseperable and given minor toy custody battles, we quite happy together. This visit, I noticed something sad, but amusing...Isabeau annoys the heck out of Gillian! For those of you who do not know both children well, Isabeau (my daughter) is a tiny bundle of energy that talks as much as she moves...constantly! Gillian (my Niece) is fairly laid back and definitely less chatty. The problem lies with the facts that they are both extremely bright (I am biased though), have very strong wills, and they are approaching 4 years of age. They still seem to love each other, but have quite different ways of showing it. After this past week, I am thinking that we made a good choice in bringing our care-person (Aria) with us to New Jersey in May.
Now it is time to assume the role of "Wedding Thug" and focus on Caterers, beverages, and photographers. Hrmmm, I wonder...Do I get to carry a gun? No? Maybe just a Tazer? No? How about pepper spray? OK, how about a rabid yorkie?
