Okay, now that everyone's blood pressure has hit triple-digits, allow me to explain....
Finch is a brilliant man, cunning, clever, paranoid in a way that heightens his senses instead of clouding his mind. He apparently has decades of experience evading detection--to the point that his own best friend and confidante didn't know about Harold and Grace.
Is such a man so helpless that he must be rescued like some damsel in distress?
So, I don't want Reese bursting in, guns blazing, to swoop Finch out of Root's clutches. I don't want the Machine leading Reese to Finch. I don't want either Reese or the Machine taking out Root.
I want Finch to save himself--or, at least, to have a substantial part in his own rescue. (Actually, I want Reese to drive up, ready to shoot Root's kneecaps, only to find Finch has taken care of the woman himself. All Reese gets is a smirk and a suggestion that he might want to clean up the mess while Finch tidies himself up. (And, no--I don't know how the dog fits into this. Maybe it's guarding Finch then changes allegience thanks to a stale croquillant Finch found in his jacket pocket.))
So, should Reese do all the work here or should Finch shoulder some of the burden of freeing himself?
