I'm off for the 100 Mile Wilderness!
I am driving today up to Shaw's Lodging in Monroe, ME. I will spend the night and leave my car there. Sunday morning they are driving me up to Abol Bridge. From there I will hike Southbound over the course of ten day until I reach Shaws's Lodging again on Tuesday, September 8th. I may extend things to September 9th. I have to work on September 10th, so if I have not posted here by that evening, something is wrong.
If I go missing, the first place to start is to call Shaw's Lodging and ask them if my car is still there. My car is a grey 2005 Honda Civic, License Plate (Massachusetts) 26XG99. I have 12 days of food on me, medkit, cold/wet weather gear, compass, and whistle. Maps I am using are “Appalachian Trail in Maine” Maps 1 & 2, (2004 Edition) published by the Maine Appalachian Trail Club.
