Friends I am frightened. Never thought I'd live to hear such words...and I'm scared! Like 'I just saw Bozo the Clown on top of a tall building holding a giant-ass spider' scared. (that's everything I'm afraid of)
"I look forward to reading your paper..."
Those were the words spoken...and those are the words that will be my doom. Any writer knows that is the kiss of death. Hearing such a thing before an assignment is due is your literacy end. The weight of those words...the expectation of those words...the power of the person who says those words. I'm frozen. I'm without prose and subtext. AND THAT'S ALL A WRITER HAS! OMG why did he have to say that?! Damn you professor Candany!
That's like telling an actor 'good luck' instead of 'break a leg'. A cloud of doubt now looms over my head...and my paper is due Friday. He's looking forward to reading my paper. Why my paper? I'm in a class of 20. Why not say everyone's paper...why mine? Now I have to have something worth reading. Something that will provoke thought and inspiration. And I got shit! Argh! O friends defend me, I am but hurt! (Shakespeare refernece there...what play?)
Thus concludes my rant...thank you.
