My Summer Vacation After Classes Started :)

[current song playing in my head| Lenka's The Show]

So, last week I was on my way to school when a friend of mine called me up to say we didn't have class. Some sort of a case of H1N1 at our school, the very lovely DLSU-Taft. Of course, my initial thought was to ignore it and still go to school. After all, I was more than halfway there already, having passed by Makati. But because of the rain and the traffic jam, I texted people and my Bossesor called me..aaand, the radio announced that indeed, a student was positive with H1N1 so the school was closing down until the 14th.

Imagine my delight!

Of course, I don't condone nor do I dance with glee that a certain 21-yr-old Japanese foreign exchange student of DLSU got diagnosed with the H1N1 disease. Hey, it's a sad thing that's happening. Not to mention, scary because the number has more than doubled in just a week. Everyone was encouraged to have a self-imposed quarantine, which I gladly took to heart.

Hey, I'll take what I can, and be happy with it.

Because in a weird, sordid way, God gave me the chance to have a 10-day vacation after a whole summer of working 8-10hrs a day, 6x a week. I daresay I deserved to have a vacation, and hey, even go home to Bicol. Mind you, ever during Labor Day weekend, I was working.

So, I went home to Albay with my parents last Thursday, about a week ago. I absolutely, positively, spectacularly did nothing there. ♥ I played with Scooby, Claude, Aki, Shaggy and Kobe (Timmy, Beau and Cola were too far away, ehehe.) I read stories, mostly from the laptop. I slept on my own bed in my our own room. I watched TV, although barely because Papa watched the Lakers game. I finished a story and wrote another one. I decorated my planner. I exercised because, oh yeah, I had lots of space and I wouldn't hit anything if I did some stretching. I played the piano and nearly perfected Clair de Lune by Debussy. I sat down outside during the mornings and just surveyed the picturesque surroundings.

Most of all, I got to do what I wanted to do before summer ended - I took a bubble bath. ♥ It's one of those moments when you realize that if you really want something, and you hope that it happens all the while acknowledging that there's a possibility it might not happen... God just kind of smiles down on you and gives you exactly what you want.

I did say that Summer was like a sweet melody that echoed in my heart. I also meant that I wanted to go back home after our rushed Holy Week spent there. That almost didn't count as a vacation because I had exams left when I came back to Manila. But this one... It was just perfect. ♥ Even if it rained most of the time, and the number of H1N1 increased by the day. I wouldn't have it any other way. ♥

I've been back here in Manila since Monday. I've spent most of time doing absolutely, positively...nothing. Haha! So much for being a good student. I brought stuff to Bicol so I'd be able to study but well, there's what you intend to do and then there's what you actually end up doing.

Plus, God gave me another gift. I texted a classmate from French class, asking whether we had class and if we had homework for Wednesday. She replied that no we didn't, and classes would start on the 15th. Woohoo! I remember feeling so giddy and ecstatic! ♥ Et je pensais que je suis franchement, tellement, toootalement heureuse!!! It was like the icing on the cake. Hee. ♥

So since then, I've been...uploading my story at Fictionpress. But mostly, I've been watching Harper's Island. Hehe. It's like I Know What You Did Last Summer x13 because it's a one-season TV series. It's about Abby who goes back to Harper's Island after a seven-year long absence to attend her best friend's wedding. But all is not what it seems as people in the wedding party begin dying on the island, echoing a similar past where John Wakefeild murdered six people seven years ago.

Oh, and what's cool about is that people die after each episode. And the actors playing the characters don't know they'll die until they're handed the script. Haha!

Call me a sicko or wacko, but well hey, I'm intrigued. I wanna know who the killer is, and how the story falls into place. Of course, sometimes, I kinda skip the part where the people are killed. Each episode is titled as an onomatopeia to mimic the ways people are killed. Yikes. Eight episodes have been aired so far, with the finale on July 11 where everything will be revealed. Sooo... Mark your calendars! Haha!

Say hello to those timeless five o'clock shadows!!!

Behind Door#1 (or should I say, Body#1) is Sam Worthington a.k.a. Mr. Marcus Wright, half-human and half-robot of Terminator Salvation. Woohoo! Yummmy! I saw him on Rogue, although he was a jerk at the start and some lousy alligator ate him barely 30minutes into the movie, but I just love, love, looove his Australian accent. Yummyyy-er!!! He seems like the brooding type too. Aghhhh!!! ♥ Oh to have those eyes stare into mine... Nyahaha!

Behind Body#2 is C.J. Thomason a.k.a Jimmy, the old flame of Abby Mills from Harper's Island. At first, I wanted Abby to end up with Henry, her best friend, and I was annoyed to no end watching the lovey-dovey crap between Henry and Trish, the bride. BUT, after I saw Jimmy, weeell, I changed my mind. Hello gorgeous smiiile! Keee! I'd die if he smiled at me like that. Teehee!!! ♥ Oh, and I could say yes to some camping with him everyday. Hahaha!

Whew! Yum, yum, yummier! Heehee!
