Hey, look, a real update O.o

May 17, 2006 14:05

Okee, this will probably be long.

First off, does anyone have experience with Army Builder ( http://www.wolflair.com/ )and creation of files for it? I’d like to know more before deciding if I want it or should just figure out a way to write my own SST army list thingy.

Switched to antihistamines with sinus medication and that’s helping more now. My cold sore is going away, which means I can hope to kiss beth in a few days. I don’t want her getting the stupid little virus that causes them, because it never goes away and breaks out when you’re tired and overworked.

Again, we have a fair number of Mead bottles we need to get rid of before I can make stuff I’m not allergic to. Cranberry Blast (18+ percent) is $20 and Cranberry Chill (13ish percent) is $15 because of costs associated. I’m looking at making an ale next because the process should kill off any and all pollens. 1 batch is 38 bottles, assuming minor spillage and such. O.o

And now for memcrup

I did this once before, but I got tagged again by Nick, so here goes.

Once you are tagged you MUST write an entry about 6 weird habits/things you do/odd information as well as state this rule clearly; In the end, you need to choose the next six people to be tagged and list their names.

1) I seem to like British things a lot, but don’t consider myself an Anglophile. I particularly enjoy British comedies, Judge Dredd, Dr Who and there’s something about the BBC newscaster accent I find both sexy (when done by women) and absurdly amusing (when done by me)

2) My first drink when I was of legal age was Scotch on the rocks at some highly expensive small town restaurant/hotel/spa thing after a 14 hour day of surveying work. I liked it, and even though it was the first time I’d ever had Scotch, I knew I would like it before I had any.

3) I design games systems the way some people listen to music. At any given time, I have about 3 or 4 mechanics ideas and other such stuff in my head. I cannot ever finish a game design unless it’s a contract FOR someone. Same deal with world design. Anything I do for myself is never finished, just like with game design. I’m running into issues with project D because it was originally an idea for myself and now is supposed to be written for someone else. The issues carried forward, as did health problems

4) I really don’t think linearly. I have this weird way of thinking that works like an object oriented program on a short circuiting computer. This means I often arrive at the answer and know it’s the answer, but I can’t tell you why or how. When this happens, I’m almost invariably correct as well. It drives me nuts.

5) I am officially “too smart for my own good.” I had a great deal of issues in school due to the way I think and the school psychologist called in to assess why actually told me that. Turns out my brain runs too fast for me to take notes and I have to talk to myself to even type without smudging sentences together. Combined with the #4, and I end up being able to put together puzzles and models really well but taking notes from a board or working in a classroom is incredibly difficult. It also makes speaking somewhat difficult as I have to carefully think about everything I say before I say it and can get lost a few sentences ahead or on a correlative point in my brain and there goes what I’m saying. I tend to be rather anal retentive about saying the exact right thing or typing the exact right thing as a result. I am getting better, really.

6) To go along with 4 and 5, I can concentrate a long time on things that do not require me to break up the thinking patterns. Models, painting, reading, etc all work well (although I do get overly absorbed) everything else, I can only focus for a short time before all the stuff in my head makes me need to get up and sort stuff out again. I walk around a lot and gesture when this happens. TV occasionally requires me to do this as well, because my brain isn’t occupied enough. I love subtitles and stuff that has hidden subtleties.

I tag anyone who wants to do this, because I'm too lazy to figure out who hasn't
