I wonder if his death won't bring Rebekah and Klaus back together - these upstarts have declared all-out war on the Mikaelsons.
Yeah, this was one reason I didn't think they'd actually kill Kol - because surely it would bring the wrath of all the Originals down on their heads.
Elena dodges again as to whether or not she wants the cure - "what does it matter what I want, if it puts everyone else in danger?" Because she doesn't want it.
If she doesn't want it, why is she joining in on the mission to look for it though? I'm still confused about Elena's motivations here.

I mean, I think she'd rather be the one possessing it than not? But that's not the same as wanting to be human again. If Klaus gets his hands on it, she's going to be forced to take it. If she's steering the push to find it, then that gives her a little more leverage in the situation. And she's afraid to admit that she doesn't want to be human anymore, because that ruins the good girl image she's been so dependent on for so long.
That does make sense. It's not at all clear to me in the show, unfortunately... I guess we'll see when she does get her hands on it, although I'm still suspicious that it'll turn out to be a fake-out anyway.

Yeah, I think there's still a pretty solid chance of that. Maybe the "cure" is Silas himself? Like, "raise the dead" is a telephone-game misrepresentation of the idea that he can give vampires back their mortality.
