Sooooo.... after a year of painful waiting I FINALLY GOT TO SEE FRIGHT NIGHT!!! AND WOOOHOOOO WAS IT EVER AWWWEEESSOMMMEE!!!!!
David was all I hoped for and more! He stole all of his scenes and was just so wonderful! I thought most of the humor in this movie came from him -although there were plenty of funnies not with him. I don't think the movie would have been as good without him. EVen if you don't like these kinda of movies, if you like David Tennant this is definately something to check out.
Now I'm not a real Colin Ferrell fan, but his performance as Jerry was actually pretty good. He was a good vampire, he was dangerous, and still had a great sense of dark humor to him.
What pairing do I support after seeing this? Well... everybody/anybody! Seriously, you could pair anybody up together from this movie and I'd still approve it! If I had to pick favorites my favorite het pairing would be Peter/Ginger and my favorite slash pairing would be Peter/Charlie (haha they have a couple of "moments" together, which I loved XD). However, I enjoy many pairings for this movie. <3
Now, I only saw the first 15 or so minutes of the original so I'm not going to compare the two. However, from what I saw I liked this new one more. I dunno, I guess I'd have to watch the original all the way through.
How was my experience? Well, it was okay. We had to see it in 3D at the theater we went to and to be honest, this movie really did not need to be in 3D. The only time I found the 3D cool was at the end when -without giving anything anyway- somebody explodes and all the ash and stuff flies into your face and it feels like it drifted into the seat in front of you. This movie really would look a lot better in 2D, but I guess for that experience I'll have to wait for the DVD, (which I am definately going to get). Were there people in my theater going to the Special Hell? Yes. By my Firefly refernce of "Special Hell" I mean people who talk in movie theaters. But yeah, the people behind us were a little noisy, but I somehow was able to focus on the screen. It didn't help that I had a big smudge on my glasses XD and whenever I wanted to clean it off, David came onscreen X3 There were so many previews, I ate all my candy before half the movie was over. XD I went to see FN with about four other people, which was fun. We all chatted about how marvelous David was on the car ride home X"3
Anyway, it was a great movie! There were surprisingly not many other people at the theater with us considering today was opening day. I like to assume it was because anybody who wanted to see it today had already seen it (we took the latest showing). I really hope FN blows Spy Kids 4 out of the water... stupid pointless sequel is stupid if it should try to go up against the almighty power of David Leatherpants Ten-inch Tennant! >8D
So, I loved it, my friends loved it, and I really do recommend it! <3
