I understand a little. Even after I got out of my latest depressive episode, the long winter is really taking its toll on me. Somewhat ironically, as opposed to your situation, mine has been made worse by the *lack* of snow. Aside from the fact that I've been feeling like I've been stuck in Autumn for five months, the short winter days have been made darker by the fact that we've barely had any snow. It's... exhausting. Slowly the days are getting longer though, so it'll ease up.
I think Pacific Rim is definitely one of those things that picks its audience very carefully haha. I made a friend watch it and they basically ripped it apart. I'm aware of its faults, but for some reason it completely swept me off my feet. I think I was just so impressed by the lack of America centrism, by the basic premise of "people need to get along to save the world" instead of being all jaded and grungey. Also Mako, and not to mention a male lead who *isn't* all about his traumatic man-angst past but in fact seems fairly well-adjusted and puts himself out there to nurture *others*, and is open with his emotions. I wish we had more of that in action movies.
Not to mention the fact the will they/won't they was left up to the viewer. (IMO, they didn't.) And Hansen family feels of course :(((
...I'm sorry, I just. I really like that movie lmao.
