Happy Valentine's Day, flist! :D
I enjoy Valentine's Day. I will listen to you rant about how it's a commercial holiday designed to make single people feel bad about themselves and couples feel obligated to make elaborate purchases, but then I will go home and put heart stickers on the valentines I am sending to my friends.
I know I'm generally anti-social and spend a lot of time complaining about people who annoy me and people who have wrong opinions, but for all of that, I really like the people who I like and I enjoy an excuse (and need the reminder, for all of you about to jump in and say, "YOU SHOULD APPRECIATE YOUR FRIENDS EVERY DAY") to tell them how much I like them and how happy I am to have them in my life.
Also, I am a total romantic, obviously, and love the idea of love and all of that. I get swept up in the trappings. And I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with that!
All that being said, I appreciate you guys. I appreciate fandom. I appreciate that, as I said at Thanksgiving, this is a community born out of love (love for characters, for source material, and for other fans) and built on love (love enough to create art, to defend ideas passionately, and to reach out to each other) and I am happy to have it in my life every day.

ON TO THE GOOD STUFF. Depending on how busy I am, I'm not sure when I'll get to these, but what's Valentine's Day without a little love between fictional characters?
