Hi, I forgot how I found you, it's been a while...probably through Doctor Who or Torchwood. You throw awesome fic parties though on AIM...
I'm going to eat veggies and beans for dinner. Then, we're seeing Columbiana so I'll have popcorn.
I still have to buy XMFC. I will but right now, I'm on a "you shouldn't be buying anything because you have bills" kick and I haven't decided what to do with my Amazon gift card because what I really, really want would require more money than just the gift card...what I really, really want is the 11 pack of every Doctor ever as an action figure...plus, I know I'll want the BluRay of XMFC since they didn't put the good stuff on the dvd.
I'm excited about the Avengers movie although I also wish we could have another movie with the XMFC cast and I just don't know since it didn't do well event though it's incredibly awesome...
I also wish they would do another backstory movie about two men falling out over ideology and methods but with Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald. It would be just as EPIC AND they would actually kiss!
Plus, Canton needs to come back because he's awesome and since Rusty's not around, he might be able to live...
idk, as far as I know, it did okay at the box office, even if it wasn't a super hit, and it got pretty good reviews from critics. My dvd even has a "Certified Fresh from Rotten Tomatoes" sticker on it. McAvoy and Fenderbender have both been talking about sequels, not that that necessarily means anything, but I wouldn't rule it out.
Avengers will hopefully be good. I've been discovering, in the wake of the Cap movie, that I have all of these ~*feelings*~ about comicsverse Avengers that I didn't even realize I had, given I never read any Avengers books regularly, but there you have it. (Even stranger given that I DID read X-books regularly and I don't seem to care about the movieverse being so vastly different and odd.)
Ooh, this is interesting because domestically, it's still considered a disappointment since it made less than 150 million and didn't do as well as X-Men Origins: Wolverine but it did do better overseas than Wolverine did so...
*fingers crossed*
yes, the marketing campaign did change to how well-reviewed it is to try and sell more dvds. I think it always needed to be marketed better to females since that seems to be most of the fandom...people always seem to underestimate female comic book geeks.
Ooh, I don't know yet if I have feelings for Avengers like, They must have this or Do this...I think as more clips get leaked and all, I might. I was always loose with the X-Men canon since the comics were different than the tv show and I was making up my own adventures where Yoda and Wolverine would take down Magneto with my action figures.
However, Wolverine the film is a whole different matter. I own the graphic novel about Logan's childhood so I had specific scenes in mind and when they both changed and short-changed those bits...I was pissed and it sort of escalated from there throughout the movie.
Plus, it's really hard to like a movie where it's all sort of undone at the end, or at least he doesn't remember, so it's like...what's the point?
I mean you have that with Donna but at least the ride to get there is more interesting and she did some lasting good.
